About Our Program
St. John’s Preschool is committed to providing quality early education in a nurturing Christian environment where each child can grow and develop intellectually, socially, physically, and spiritually while instilling an enthusiasm for learning and an appreciation for God’s diverse creation.
Since 1965, more than 3,500 children have begun their learning experience in the classrooms at St. John’s Preschool. We have a dedicated team of teachers and leaders. The preschool provides foundational education and socialization programs for children ages three through five. The program provides music, art, reading, and math, along with spiritual and cultural learning. We’re looking for preschoolers who like to learn, play, paint, read, color, sing, dance, and participate in a variety of other enrichment activities. An outdoor play area is available for the children’s use.

Our special activities include:
Chapel – this is a short service where children sing songs, learn the Children's Creed, hear a Bible story, and say their prayers.
Crazy Music – Karen Melton teaches the students how to read music and introduces new seasonal songs.
Museum Visits – Hosted by the Town of Wytheville Department of Museums, they come to teach on a different exciting topics; Apples, Native Americans, Churning Butter, and Dyeing Eggs.
Field Trips - We like to take two field trips each year. At least 1 parent is required to attend with each student, if destination is not within walking distance of our school.
Giving Opportunities:
The Preschool participates in donating to charitable organizations. In the past, we have collected various types of food for the HOPE Packs. Through this, we teach the children compassion and hope that they will transfer that to their everyday lives.
